Professional Development

The University of Arizona College of Science offers a variety of courses for teachers, from marine biology to recombinant DNA techniques to a research experience in the Galapagos Islands! Many courses emphasize laboratory and research experience and include a focus on translating the experience to teachable classroom activities. Some courses are available as part of a formal degree program. The Masters in General Biology for Secondary School Teachers makes it possible to earn a master's degree in biology during summer breaks! A large number of research lab internships and courses are available to teachers independent of a formal degree program.
