Marine Discovery
Location: Marine Discovery Classroom, Flandrau Science Center & Planetarium

Sponsored by the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and now sited at Flandrau Science Center, these public outreach field trips to the University of Arizona are designed to teach 3-8 grade students in the Tucson area about the importance of our oceans. See tropical fish, live coral and other aquatic creatures in our salt water tanks. Marine Discovery activities include shark dissection, squid dissection, fish diversity, plankton race, and a living tidepool; Marine Discovery: The Voyage Begins includes general hands-on marine biology.
Audience: Grades 3–8 for Marine Discovery;
Science Field: Biology, Ecology, Oceanography
Schedule: Marine Discovery for grades 3-8 is offered Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, 9:15-11:45 am
Cost: Marine Discovery is $5 per student for groups of 16-32, or $7 per student for groups of 16-32 when booked in combination with a Flandrau Field Trip and Planetarium program. Ask about Title 1 school discount for both programs.
